OBJECTIVES:

    • To update course contents by introducing recent developments in plant sciences.
    • To prepare the curriculum as such that it can attract, enthuse, sustain and promote the Interest of learners for selecting Botany and allied disciplines as their career and make them realize that their choice is intellectually rewarding.
    • To make provision for improvement in the quality of laboratory and field work in the lack of which the students are not able to appreciate the beauty and variety of form, structure, function and ecological significance of plants and their biological services.
    • To increase the awareness of young learners about the abuse to which plants have been subjected by human greed, and to expertise in exploration, identification and evaluation of plants, conservation of nature and natural resources and in the protection of endangered plant species and other biota dependent on them.
    • To provide for the mobility of students among institutions and different disciplines so as to acquaint with the latest trends and techniques adopted in the field of applied botany.
    • Evaluation for semester based programs shall be done through Continuous Assessment (C.A) and Semester End Examinations (S.E.E)
Madhale sir

Dr. Santosh V. Madhale is Head of the Department, with 10 years teaching experience. He has done Ph. D. from Shivaji University Kolhapur in 2011. He is now NAAC Coordinator. He has published 27 research papers in reputed WOS indexed journals. He has been Convener, Coordinator, & Organizing Secretary of various national and international conferences. He is on Editorial Board member and Reviewer of many international Journal. He edited three Proceeding books of International Conference.

Dr. Manisha S. Sutare – Assistant Professor A dynamic professional with over 10 years’ experience in teaching undergraduate course. Hold Doctorate degree in Botany from S.R.T.M.U., Nanded and Post Graduate degree from Dr. B. A.M.U., Aurangabad. Also organized and coordinated international, national and state level conferences, workshops and hands-on-trainings. Attended more than 21 international, national and state level conferences, seminars and webinars and published 24 research papers in referred and UGC-CARE listed research journals. Published one book from Lap Lambert Publication, Germany and working as reviewer for International Journal.  Worked as an Associate Editor of Journal Research Frontiers in Sciences ISBN: 978-81-931247-1-0(2016).Bhumi Publishing House, Kolhapur. Worked as Editor Conservation of Wild Taxa: Present Scenario: ISBN: 978-81-926339-06 Academia.edu (online)(2021). Published UGC CARE listed WOS Research Journal of Int Conference (2021). A recognized PhD guide of Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Working on research projects funded by competent authority.

Dr. Sudhir P. Dorugade, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany, boasts six years of teaching experience. He earned his Ph.D. from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, in 2015. Currently, Dr. Dorugade serves as the Coordinator of the College Admission Committee and oversees Research Advisory/API PBAS scrutiny. His scholarly achievements include authoring 13 research papers published in reputable journals. Additionally, he actively participates in various national and international conferences as a Convener, Co-convener, and Coordinator. Dr. Dorugade’s commitment to academia and research underscores his dedication to advancing knowledge in the field of botany.
